Chunjang fermented black bean paste is the basic ingredient of Korean black bean noodles or Jjajangmen (Jajjangmyeon). The paste is made by fermenting soya beans, wheat and caramel. This gives the paste a deliciously savoury umami flavour, which is perfect as the basis for your Korean black bean sauce.
