Ssamjang is a thick, spicy paste used with food wrapped in a leaf in Korean cuisine. The sauce is traditionally made of doenjang (or soybean paste), gochujang (or hot pepper paste), sesame oil, garlic and other ingredients. Many Koreans use ssamjang as a dipping sauce for fresh vegetables and grilled meats. It is also a key condiment in ssambap, Korean vegetable wrap. Simply use a green leaf such as red leaf lettuce and add some rice, meat and ssamjang sauce on top for a delicious meal.
